Certified TR Program Plan Designer & Writer I

A mid-level position. The Certified Therapeutic Recreation (TR) Program Plan Designer I, develops, documents, and updates our TR-based program plan documents. Program plans are created for in-company projects, and created on a client-facility-specific basis as needed.

Certified Therapeutic Recreation Program Plan Designer & Writer Level 1

Reports to: Senior Program Planner

General Purpose

The Certified TR Program Planner will work with staff (and optionally clients) to create documentation for our program plans following Therapeutic Recreation methodologies and processes.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Update documentation of RPG Therapeutics processes, methodologies, and policies.
  • Regular use of complete TR program plan creation process
  • Therapeutic Recreation professional standards oversight compliance
  • Drum circle and other music-related documentation
  • RPG programs documentation
  • Working with senior program planners, oversee, design, and implement program plans
  • Run therapeutic RPG/LARP sessions for clients.
  • Assist Game Masters and other specialists in preparing adventures and activities in accordance with RPG Therapeutics rules and guidelines, including GM Code of Conduct.
  • Customize program plans to meet client's assessed needs.
  • Oversee completion of assessment forms
  • Oversee character sheet design in relation to program plan goals
  • Insure participant compliance with Player Code of Conduct.
  • Regularly report to other RPG Therapist staff.
  • Attend either in-person or via remote access, at least one training session / administrative meeting per week (3-4 hours)

Education and Training

Required:

  • Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS).
  • Washington State Registered Recreational Therapist (other state licensing will be considered as well).
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 2+ years Therapeutic Recreation / Recreational Therapy professional field experience.
  • Extensive TR program plan writing experience complying with CTRS related professional standards.

 

Optional but preferred:

  • Music Therapist - Board Certified (MT-BC).
  • Other RPG Related certifications/training.
  • Recreation /event management training/certification.
  • Master's degree
  • Other therapeutic and recreation certification, training, degrees, licensing.
  • 5+ years TR/RT professional field experience
  • 5+ years experience with role-playing games (RPG)
  • 2+ years experience as Game Master (GM)
  • 5+ years experience with music, especially music therapy

Working Conditions

Certified Program Plan Designer I can work remotely, but may be required to periodically attend RPG Therapeutics offices or other locations, though may be able to access remotely.

 

Note: We have overwhelming demand from paying clients far outpacing our ability to provide services due to a lack of sufficiently qualified people. Employment begins 2018.
